İstanbul Municipality Eyüp Social Center, community center and soup kitchen design competition, 2.nd mention prize
The building is shaped around the open space that is organized between two significant urban area which has a pedestrian potential. These open spaces, which connect the upper and lower levels and are cascaded into the indoor use of different functions at different levels, are connected to the Historical city center with Kaşgari Street and Pierre Loti at the upper level. Additional links are created through the existing and proposed pedestrian stairs between the residences at the lower level. The active use of the area by the neighborhood residents is encouraged with the playground, outdoor sports area, seating units and urban equipment arranged on these pedestrian connections and stairs.
